Collaboration agreements with three Water agencies

Onema has signed three new collaboration agreements with Water agencies, namely Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse on 12 December 2008, Artois-Picardie on 20 January 2009 and Loire-Bretagne on 12 February 2009.

The agreements will reinforce collaboration in the fields of knowledge and management of aquatic environments. Their activities complement each other in gathering, using and disseminating information, notably in the framework of the WIS-F, the water information system for France, managed by Onema. The data collected in the basins under the responsibility of the agencies are used notably to define and implement restoration programmes for aquatic environments. The Onema local offices provide technical support and know-how to the agencies in implementing the action plans. On the national level, there is also collaboration on research and study projects.
